Homosexuality is a sin according to the Word, without question. Unfortunately, we tend to take that view and summarily HATE any person who doesn't line up with our view. God help us genuinely LOVE the sinner while hating the sin; and help us to know the difference between the two. Let us be equally concerned with putting Christ back in Christmas but also (and more importantly) back in Christian!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541750424301079707.post-82260689557918846812022-08-08T16:11:01.619-07:002022-08-08T16:11:01.619-07:00I would suggest that more and more SSA is not bein...I would suggest that more and more SSA is not being viewed as sin but as the norm. It would seem fewer and fewer SSA individuals are asking for prayer and help. No doubt some will, but the percentage seems small.
It would also seem that instead of SSA conforming to biblical standards within the church, the church is being asked and in some cases, forced to conform to the SSA standard.
For the SSA person to acknowledge they have a sin problem and reach out for help is certainly commendable... and they should be welcomed and loved. I am afraid that's not the attitude and mentality prevalent in today's society. The attitude seems to demanding of acceptance and expectation of not equal rights, but special rights. Let's help those who genuinely seek it and desire to honor God with their life. However, the church should not be condemned for calling sin what it is. There are still biblical standards and those standards should not be compromised for anyone regardless of their particular sin.

Pastor LR Belcher
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541750424301079707.post-40483524865856367392021-01-20T17:16:42.796-08:002021-01-20T17:16:42.796-08:00But the church should have done it discretely, not...But the church should have done it discretely, not publicly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08678236630561699016noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541750424301079707.post-51863806956542422712020-05-20T20:01:23.473-07:002020-05-20T20:01:23.473-07:00I believe the sin of homosexuality is the same sin...I believe the sin of homosexuality is the same sin as heterosexuality. They are both fornication. Satan tempts believers in all different ways. It's a serious subject which needs compassionate understanding. The preacher in this article who humiliated the young musician was definitely in the wrong and his actions give all Christians a bad name. I had a lady one time tell me that she sure didn't want them in her church. She was shocked when I said that I hoped that they would come to my church as they needed a lot of love and prayer to stand for Christ no matter what. I do not believe that anyone in my church would ever condemn them but would keep them fully in prayer and show them love. Amazing what prayer can do and so many of us condemn instead of praying for one another. God help the church to be more Christlike than a judge. As far as I know, God didn't make us judges but He and He alone is the judge and we do not need to do His job. Want everyone to know that we love Kirk Talley very much and truly believe that he is our brother in Christ. Just because a person is tempted, does not mean they have sinned. Even Jesus was tempted but did not sin. Christ does not discriminate against who can and cannot come to Him. Christians who put their judgements higher than God's need to do some deep soul searching. If God has an issue with a person who has SSA then He is the one to work on them with that and call them out on it. God calls us to love, grace, and to work out our own holiness, not to work out others holiness for them. He had asked for prayer for an feelings for another woman than his wife and forgiveness. The church board ambushed him the next service. They had him come up to the front and exposed his sin and had the board pray for him publicly. That was the last time he entered that church that he had been a part of for 29 years.Supershel777https://www.blogger.com/profile/01165761575938682969noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541750424301079707.post-53287364916058516282017-07-24T11:49:05.007-07:002017-07-24T11:49:05.007-07:00Very thought provoking Mark. I encouraged him to continue to sing and he did after a 6 month pause. I concur that the "Christian" community needs more compassion when it comes to this issue, although I've given up on my own denomination ever really getting there. There are pockets of acceptance, but overall it still subscribes to unChrist like behavior.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8541750424301079707.post-10524846980032781562017-01-10T03:46:39.361-08:002017-01-10T03:46:39.361-08:00Thanks Mark, for sharing.
